WatchHouse was born in Bermondsey in 2014 starting from only 25 square meters. With 19 houses at the time of writing (no 2 the same) and growing at a pace that may make you think WatchHouse shouldn't belong on this list of curated, small-scale, independent shops with them now going global. and houses in New York too (the Soho House of the independent coffee scene?). But it's important to be aware, the foundations of which Watch House started were that of any other on the list, focussing on incredibly high-quality coffee, that's ethically sourced and exceptional members of staff, who make you feel at home.

Fun fact too, the CEO, Roland Horne's early career selling world-class aquariums to high-profile clients.
